Why not cruise the Welsh canals?  The Llangollen Canal in the north  includes the spectacular Pontcyscyllte Aqueduct and in the south, the Monmouth & Brecon Canal (the 'Mon & Brec' as it's popularly known) crosses the Brecon Beacons National Park.
