STB 5 Star Hotel
AA 5 Star 3 Rosettes for food
AA Hotel of the Year for Scotland and
Northern Ireland 2005/2006
Michelin Star

|
Award winning 5 Star
castle hotel in South Ayrshire only 90 minutes from Glasgow. Glenapp Castle was built in 1870 by the celebrated architect David Bryce for James Hunter, the Deputy Lord Lieutenant
of Ayrshire. Over the years the house fell into a state of disrepair until in April 2000, having restored Glenapp to its former grandeur, the Cowans opened the doors of the castle as an exclusive luxury
hotel.
Within the castle, each piece of antique furniture and each original oil painting has been carefully chosen to assume its rightful place amid the grandeur of the fine Austrian Oak panelled hallways and the gracious well proportioned rooms.
Dining at the castle is an unique experience. The finest 3 AA
Rosette cuisine, produced by a skilled and professional team, is served each evening in the gracious
surroundings of the castle dining rooms. There are seventeen luxuriously appointed bedrooms and suites at Glenapp. All are individual, and look out upon the beauty of the gardens or across the Irish Sea to Ailsa Craig, Arran and the Mull of Kintyre. The
en
suite bathrooms - traditionally appointed - are equally luxurious. All rooms have direct dial telephone, colour TV, VCR,
DVD and CD players. The castle is a T-Mobile HotSpot with WIFI
available in all bedrooms.
The 30 acre grounds at Glenapp Castle are totally secluded and private, and are for the exclusive use of the castle guests. Fresh herbs and fruit from the garden are used every day in the castle kitchen, and freshly cut flowers adorn every room. For the
more energetic, there is also an all weather tennis court and croquet lawn.
At Glenapp we only host weddings on an exclusive use basis, whereby the wedding party of up to thirty four guests, have sole occupancy of the castle and the grounds. Weddings at the castle are intimate occasions where
guests can relax among friends and enjoy the beauty and luxury of their surroundings.
For weddings and exclusive use reservations we can
provide music and entertainment for all tastes, ranging from traditional Scottish banquets and Burns
Suppers to whisky and wine tasting, ceilidhs and highland dancing.
We can provide a traditional Scottish piper or a twelve piece fiddle orchestra, a string quartet or a folk singer. We can also provide more contemporary live
music. Please note that only guests with a prior reservation for
lunch, afternoon tea, dinner or to stay may be admitted to the castle and its grounds.
