Set beside the River Eden, deep in the heart of the Eden Valley you will find historic Appleby Castle. This stunning motte and bailey castle boasts one of the best preserved Norman keeps.
The castle has a long and fascinating history. Dating from Roman times, it has been held by kings of both Scotland and England and was home in the 17th century to Lady Anne Clifford.
We are now offering bed and breakfast in seven stunning guest bedrooms with four poster beds, decorated in the style of the gentry. Enjoy full use of all the castle facilities including the games room and tennis court.
