Backing onto the New Forest, the Woodlands Lodge Hotel is a luxury country house hotel near Southampton, with beautiful bedrooms and elegant dining room. You can walk for miles through the glades, heathland and enclosures that make up the New Forest.

Of all the New Forest hotels, the Woodlands Lodge Hotel, formally a New Forest hunting lodge dating from 1770, is in an especially beautiful and peaceful setting, a good mile or more away from the main roads. It was converted to a hotel in the 1950's and extensively renovated as a luxury hotel in the 90's.

Woodlands is situated right on the edge of the New Forest which is a unique area of 144 square miles of woods and heathland. As well as enjoying all that English forests have to offer, there is a large variety of local attractions, recreational activities, cathedrals and coastal cities and towns. Alternatively you may prefer just to relax in the hotel or around the grounds. Be careful not to trip over our free range chickens that wander around the grounds! You may also like to say hello to Rambo and Minty our two pet sheep. New Forest ponies and cattle also wander in and out of our paddock at the back of the hotel.

Restaurant.  Bentleys Restaurant was named after the hotel dog, a lively Dalmatian who sometimes makes a guest appearance, meeting & greeting diners! Situated within the hotel, the restaurant has excellent views out onto our gardens and the New Forest, to make your meal even more relaxing.

The restaurant has been awarded an AA rosette for its cuisine. We serve quality food that is not as expensive as you may think. The evening menu is modestly priced at £31.50 for 4 courses including coffee. A 3 course Sunday lunch is at the special price of just £14.95 and is a wonderful opportunity to gather with family & friends. Relax afterwards with our board games in the lounge or recline on one of the garden loungers. Open to non-residents, the menu is varied daily to take advantage of fresh local produce. Come and try some New Forest venison or locally caught fish.

After dinner, take advantage of the three acres of garden the hotel and restaurant provides or take a stroll down some the numerous local forest paths that surround the restaurant. If this is too energetic for you then why not just relax at the bar or comfortable lounge areas with one of the many liqueurs, brandies or malts.
