Crossways Hotel,   ALFRISTON, near EASTBOURNE

A fine Georgian house in the heart of the glorious Cuckmere Valley, ideal for your visit to Glyndebourne Opera House or walking the South Downs. Carved into the chalk of the South Downs, the Famous Neolithic Long Man of Wilmington' gazes down at the petty white front and blue shutters of Crossways. The elegant dining room serves food to a high standard, there is plenty to choose from on the fixed-price four course menu. The menu changes every month to reflect the best local seasonal produce.

 

Albert and Victoria,   EASTBOURNE

This charming and elegant Victorian house was built in 1892 and is situated in a quiet road only 40 metres from the beach. Entering the hallway you will step back in time. All rooms are individually furnished to a very high standard and provide each guest with every comfort for their stay. Each room has bath/shower en-suite facilities, canopied beds, TV and courtesy trays.

Berties,  ROMSEY

This historic building has enjoyed a variety of uses over the years. In the 18th Century it became a coaching house called the Kings Head. In 1995 it was renamed 'Bertie's' after the P.G Woodhouse character Bertie Wooster. Our team of chefs have gained recognition from the AA and Good Food Guide. The menu may feature 'Homemade fishcakes with a tomato herb sauce' alongside 'Brochettes of monkfish with a lemon and chervil dressing' or perhaps 'pork and herb sausages on a bed of mustard mash' alongside 'Roasted rack of lamb with figs and a sauce of ginger'. It is not all full meals, we serve simple lunches and snacks using the finest fresh local produce. In the evening the restaurant is transformed with linen napkins and candles. We can also offer very comfortable guest rooms: these are all en-suite.

WEST SUSSEX  

Copyhold Hollow Bed and Breakfast,  BORDE HILL, HAYWARDS HEATH

Two miles north of Haywards Heath, behind a 1,000 year old box hedge, Copyhold Hollow nestles in the 1½ acre hollow that gives it its name. The 16th Century, Grade II Listed house with later additions was built before Queen Elizabeth I came to the throne, on a site in use since the Iron Age. The proprietor, Frances Druce, spent 3½ years restoring it and turning it into the very comfortable home it is today.
