Driving through the Golden Gates of Bowood's grand
entrance, you enter a golfing haven. Set within
‘Capability' Brown's 2000-acre Great Park and the
estate of Bowood House and Gardens lies the
championship golf course carefully designed by
Dave Thomas, architect of the Belfry.
Voted among the top ten new courses in Britain and
top fifty golf destinations in Europe by Golf
World Magazine, Bowood boasts one of the
finest 18 hole courses in the South of England.
The Bowood Estate
is the home of the Marquis and Marchioness of
Lansdowne and has been the Lansdowne family home
since 1754.
Between the 7th and 8th fairways of the world
famous golf course lies Queenwood Lodge. This
luxurious Georgian manor house, beautifully
furnished and decorated by Lady Lansdowne, is
rented out on an exclusive basis. Great emphasis
is placed on comfort and providing the atmosphere
of a private house. There is a sitting room,
dining room and study, together with four en-suite
twin bedrooms.
The Lodge is available on a nightly basis, and
packages include; afternoon tea, a magnificent
four-course gourmet dinner, luxury accommodation
and full English breakfast. You have Lodge
Manager, Karen Dawson to look after you and her
husband, top Chef Chris Dawson, to prepare a
superb dinner and full English breakfast using the
finest local ingredients. After dinner, you are
left to enjoy the strictest privacy. Furthermore
all guests staying at Queenwood receive two
complimentary rounds of golf on the stunning
championship course, and complimentary entrance to
the beautiful Bowood House & Gardens (during the
summer season)
Queenwood is ideal for friends and family (we
regret Queenwood is not suitable for children
under 12 or pets) as well as corporate groups.
Dining Room Host your own dinner party in the charming
candlelit dining room. Relax after an invigorating
round of golf with first class cuisine and a fine
cellar. Chris Dawson will prepare a delicious
freshly cooked dinner to suit your tastes, using
the best local ingredients. Lunch can be taken in
the main Clubhouse.

Sitting
room with its comfortable sofas has an
elegance all of its own. English chintzes and
antique furniture combine to make this room
delightfully cosy especially in the winter with
its roaring open fire.
Bedrooms
Each of the four beautiful en-suite twin
bedrooms
has it’s own unique character and views over the
golf course and has its own tea / coffee making
facilities.
The Study is
perfect as a quiet area to catch up on some work,
read or watch TV.
Patio and Garden
The house is surrounded by a beautifully
maintained garden that leads down to the brook and
lake on the 8th hole. A beautiful location for
summer evening drinks and al fresco dining.
