Found on a quiet country lane Cleavers Lyng is an ideal base for exploring 1066 Country. A grade II listed Country Guesthouse of considerable charm and character, with a history dating back to 1577. The original part of the house was built during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I to which the oak beams and inglenook fireplace in the breakfast area bear witness.

Set amidst elegant gardens ablaze with colour during the spring and summer months with glorious views across the unspoiled Sussex countryside. Our one and half acres of landscaped gardens have a wealth of birds and wildlife and are secluded and very peaceful.

For those that just like to relax and unwind away from the urban clamour we offer cosy and quality accommodation along with comfortable seating in our downstairs residents lounge area where games and cards are also available.

Accommodation: All of our guest bedrooms are en-suite and double (with one converting into a twin). Complete with solid oak doors, some with antique furniture and all with quality thick carpets, each room is individually styled to offer optimum comfort and character. It is our aim to provide you with the very best service and comfort throughout your stay. Our rates start at £65.00 per night for a double room for 2 people sharing and this also includes breakfast.

Our Four Poster Bedroom offers a separate lounge area, where you can relax and unwind. The Sunny Room is light and bright with double-aspect windows overlooking the gardens and has glorious views over the Pevensey Marshes towards the South Downs. The Antique French Bedroom offers romantic country chic, featuring charming oak beams, original fireplace and opulent dark-wood furniture. The Balcony Bedroom is our premier room, with super-king size bed, large bathroom and a west-facing balcony to make the most of the glorious sunsets, also with outside seating area, there’s space to relax, work and admire the beautiful uninterrupted views over the gardens and towards the Pevensey levels and South Downs.

     

The rooms come with 22" wide screen flat panel LCD TV's with integrated DVD/CD  players. Quality designer bedding with a bale of fresh fluffy his and her towels for each day of your stay. They also come with hairdryer, radio alarm and are equipped with tea/coffee making facilities and biscuits. For those that like to have something a little bit special we also provide wine and drinks glasses. Use of iron and ironing board. The en-suite bathrooms are all provided with quality shampoo, shower gel and bath oils.

The Lounge Area is the perfect space to relax, unwind and make the most of your country break. In the summer, our triple aspect lounge floods with natural light and provides glorious views of the grounds which come alive with colour, birds and wildlife. During the winter months, the warm glow from the open inglenook fireplace, create an inviting and cosy ambience. Laptop users may use our WIFI connection free of charge.

Tuck in to our delicious full English cooked breakfast, prepared from locally sourced produce and quality ingredients – free range eggs, butcher’s sausages, fine back bacon, button mushrooms and home-grown tomatoes (when in season). Alternatively if you prefer something a little lighter in the mornings, choose from a selection of cereals, exotic fresh fruit salad, yogurts, toast and warmed croissants served with home-made marmalade and jam. A selection of teas, coffee and fruit juices are also available.
