From Blair Castle,
the ancient seat of the Dukes and Earls of Atholl,
comes an invitation to stage your next event –
perhaps an important anniversary dinner, the
romantic wedding of the century or a major product
launch – in the heart of Highland Perthshire.
As one of
Scotland’s most ancient and historic family homes,
Blair Castle makes an exciting alternative to
hotels and conference centres. Here, history and
tradition combine with 21st century facilities and
service to create an unforgettable backdrop to
your business event or family celebration.
Enjoy a glittering
array of outstanding facilities – from the
dignified and intimate Library for smaller
meetings to the magnificent Ballroom where up to
220 guests can gather for ceremony and
celebration, dining and dancing in a truly
highland Scottish ambience.
Blair Castle, with
its roots in the 13th century, is one of the most
northerly of Scotland's great houses and is
certainly one of the most majestic. It is one of
the largest houses in the Highlands and one of
Britain's oldest continuously inhabited houses,
dating in part from 1269. At the gateway to the
Grampian Mountains on the route north to
Inverness, the location was highly strategic.
Today you and your guests can enjoy the wild
beauty of the surrounding landscape but centuries
ago it was a threatening and dangerous place.
Easily accessible
from all major Scottish cities, this is a venue of
incomparable splendour and a unique place to mark
a significant milestone.

Facilities.
There are few venues in Scotland which offer the
scope, character, individuality and flexibility
our extensive range of superb facilities, gardens
and grounds provide.
The Ballroom:
Special celebrations require a splendid setting to
bring them alive and contribute the proper sense
of scale, elegance and grandeur. Celebrations
combining dining and dancing are all augmented by
the excellent acoustics, atmospheric lighting,
Bechstein grand piano and spacious dance floor.
More formal arrangements can be made for larger
events, when the Ballroom can accommodate up to
400 people in theatre-style seating.
The Library:
In the dignified quiet of the Library, lined with
a magnificent portfolio of Scottish learning,
small gatherings of up to 40 guests can meet and
soak up the unique atmosphere. The Library is
perfect for small wedding ceremonies, board
meetings for up to 12 directors, and can be
transformed into a meeting room with up to 40
theatre-style seats.
The State Dining
Room: Originally added in 1530, this part
of the castle housed the Great Hall on the first
floor. The space was transformed during the 1740s,
when the castle was remodelled as a Georgian
mansion, and one of Scotland’s greatest dining
chambers was created. So when an occasion requires
an appropriate sense of style, the baroque accent
of the State Dining Room offers a regal setting
for private dinners, where 16 - 50 guests can
celebrate a special anniversary or gather for a
corporate event such as impressing key clients or
marking an important milestone. The State Dining
Room is also a splendid setting for wedding
ceremonies and drinks receptions for up to 140
people.

Catering and Entertainment.
All catering in the castle is undertaken by
our own retained caterers, Prestige Scotland whose
cuisine and experience commands a worldwide
reputation. No two events are the same but many
include such elements as a piper and a red carpet
welcome in the castle’s main entrance hall; drinks
reception; three or more course meal as required;
house or fine vintage wines; table flowers;
provision of furniture; fine cutlery, crockery and
glassware; photo opportunities, and tasting
opportunities in Edinburgh by arrangement.
Entertainment can also be arranged including
Scottish dancing, fiddling or singing. A Harpist
playing during dinner can create a delightfully
civilised atmosphere or the castle’s Bechstein
grand piano can be made available to approved
players. A Perthshire pipe band can perhaps Beat
the Retreat with pipes and drums in front of the
castle to bring an event to a rousing conclusion.
