In a superb, secluded location by the sea on a 160-acre private island, these three unique cottages enjoy stunning views. Otter and Island Cottages are an adjoining pair of cosy and spacious lighthouse keepers' cottages (the lighthouse is now automatic), while The Lookout is a former wartime lookout post situated 100 yards away from the lighthouse enclosure. Set at the northern tip of Davaar Island, they are connected to the mainland by a causeway, revealed by the sea for 6 hours at low tide. On arrival and departure, and for arranged shopping trips, visitors will be ferried by Landrover across the causeway (leaving their cars at the quayside).

Sleeps 4. In a superb location adjacent to Lussa Burn and waterfall, with views of Loch Sween beyond, this spacious and truly exceptional property boasts a large hillside garden. Imaginatively designed and built in traditional stone, it is set in the tiny hamlet of Achnamara in peaceful countryside just a few minutes from the loch, where water sports, windsurfing and sailing can be enjoyed. The picturesque harbour village of Crinan (5miles) offers an excellent hotel and restaurant, coffee and craft shops, and lovely walks or cycle rides along the canal side.

Sleeps 4. This renovated detached boat house sits in a magnificent location by the water's edge with a small beach adjacent and surrounded by woodland. The views form the decked terrace across the water to the Argyll hills and countryside are a wonderful setting for a relaxing holiday. Connel village is a short stroll away for eating and shopping. Oban (5miles) is a busy town with great shops and ferries to Lismore, Mull and Iona.

Superbly situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, mid-way between Oban and Fort William, these two delightful 19th-century properties each enjoy spectacular, far-reaching views over Loch Linnhe towards the Isles of Mull, Lismore and Shuna. Comfortable and well-equipped, they are set in a pretty courtyard with the owners' home, just half a mile from a shingle beach with riding and a water sports/boat hire centre (run by the owner), and enjoy shared use of a large garden and games barn. Sleeps 6. This delightful 18th-century, historically listed building lies at the end of a rocky peninsula, between the sea at Loch Crinan and the estuary of the River Add. Fully renovated and very tastefully furnished to the S.T.B. `4 Star' standard, and with lovely antiques, it provides attractive accommodation in tranquil surroundings. The sandy beach is just over the garden fence, and its own well-kept grounds command one of those fine views for which Western Scotland is renowned.  Lochgilphead, with its variety of shops, restaurants, swimming pool and facilities for golf, is 8 miles away.

Recently renovated to its former glory, the castle has stunning views of Loch Long and the Firth of Clyde. Apartment has three double bedrooms, each with four poster bed.

The house has stunning views of Ben Cruachan and Ben Duirinnis rises up from behind the house. The coastal castles of Dunstaffnage and Barcaldine are within 20 minutes of the house. Only 30 minutes away is the bustling town of Oban - the gateway to the islands. This is a superb area for outdoor enthusiasts and there are many deserted bays and beaches to be discovered further up Loch Etive that make for excellent picnic sites. There are also great restaurants and pubs to be found all over the area. Pub 9 miles.

Dating back to 1780 and originally the toll cottage at Stinchar Bridge, this property has been carefully renovated and furnished to a high standard. Standing detached on the edge of the village in a lovely position between two bridges, the cottage commands superb views over the river estuary to the sea, and boasts a riverside garden as well as a lovely pitched ceiling in the living room and gallery bedroom. Pub 300 yards.

Sleeps 4. Close to Loch Lomond, this light and airy cottage style accommodation has French windows, wood-burning stove and small secluded walled garden. Excellent walking and cycling. Gareloch is just down the lane with a launching slip, ideal for canoeing, windsurfing, dinghies and fishing. Loch Lomond National Park and golf course, 15 minutes. Monro's, Cobbler 20 minutes, Ben Lomond 40 minutes. Helensburgh 10 minutes, Glasgow 45 minutes.
