Linthwaite House Hotel is a relaxing Lake District country house hotel, with a perfect location overlooking Lake Windermere and the surrounding Lakeland fells. Located in Windermere, Linthwaite House Hotel is distinctly an 'unstuffy' country house hotel offering luxury accommodation, award winning food and a warm welcome.

This outstanding Edwardian country house hotel was originally built as a private country house in 1900. Linthwaite is now a haven for those with distinctive tastes, who appreciate some of the finer things in life and who enjoy being looked after in a manner that is professional without being pretentious. Linthwaite is arguably one of the finest luxury hotels in the Lake District.

Linthwaite House Hotel is ideally situated in over fourteen acres of its own gardens and woods, the perfect setting for a really romantic honeymoon or romantic break. A country house retreat where you will be looked after from the moment you arrive at the hotel until the time comes to tear yourself away. The hotel even has its own tarn where you can fish for brown trout or just listen to the silence, with fabulous views over Lake Windermere.

And each evening when you return to Linthwaite after touring around the Lake District or visiting one of the many Lake District attractions, we will be there to take good care of you and help you call it a day.

    

Accommodation Facilities: Twenty-seven bedrooms all with private bath, shower, bathrobes, 12-channel TV, CD mini hi-fi, trouser press, tea and coffee tray, teddy bear, books, mineral water. Some with lake views, king size beds with canopies. Level 1 accessible disabled room on ground floor with own external access. All no smoking bedrooms. Lounge and restaurant no smoking. Full room service. Ralph Lauren meets Raffles style interior design. Suite with garden view, deluxe rooms with lake views and twin bedded rooms available.

Dining: Linthwaite House Hotel's 3 rosette award-winning Lake District restaurant serves "modern British" food. The excellent cuisine features the best fresh, local produce - ample portions immaculately presented, with a fine selection of wines.

Throughout the day a selection of freshly made sandwiches and beverages are served. Afternoon tea is served between 3.00 and 5.30 p.m. At lunchtime guests can choose from the Terrace Menu, whilst enjoying the breathtaking views of Lake Windermere and the Lake District fells.

In the evening there is a four-course table d'hôte menu, which changes daily, with dining in the mirror room restaurant or the billiard room. A traditional Sunday Lunch (four course Table d'hôte menu) is also available in the restaurant on Sunday from 12.00 - 2.00 pm. We can easily cater for any special dietary requirements, just let us know prior to arrival. There are always vegetarian options available on the menu.

Weddings: A sublime hilltop location overlooking Lake Windermere a perfect location for a Lake District Wedding. Voted the most romantic hotel by the AA, Linthwaite offers a truly unique wedding venue. The secluded gardens, magical tarn and Lake District scenery provide the perfect backdrop for romantic photographs. The hotel terrace, conservatory or lounge are ideal settings for a relaxed drinks' reception.

At Linthwaite we know the importance of making sure your wedding day is one of the most memorable days of your life (and memorable for the right reasons). Our experienced Wedding Director will manage all your arrangements, from ceremony to reception, so that you can make the most of your precious day and not worry about a thing. Furthermore for complete freedom and flexibility the hotel can be hired for your exclusive use. We have twenty-seven bedrooms, so can accommodate up to 54 residents.

Conferences: Linthwaite House Hotel is set in 14 acres of open grounds and woods overlooking Lake Windermere, providing that 'get away from it all' feeling that you need for fresh ideas or to raise motivation. We're secluded, providing you with total privacy and confidentiality. We can host small-scale conferences, seminars, training and team building sessions, incentives and 9 to 5 meetings. You can hire the whole Hotel for Exclusive Use or book just a couple of rooms.

For a spot of relaxation, Linthwaite has use of a nearby leisure spa and Windermere Golf Club is one mile away. We can arrange all kinds of events, indoors and out, from hiking, orienteering and mountain-biking in the Lake District for the active, to tours of local historic houses for the less active!

We tailor our breaks to your individual needs, whether you need a few armchairs and coffee on tap, or a full scale boardroom set up with exact timings for breaks and specified equipment. Our Business Co-ordinator will work with you to help plan your break and attend to your every need throughout.
