Newbiggin Hall was built originally as a pele tower in 1304; a place of refuge from Scottish raiders and feuding border families, providing shelter for both humans and animals.  Subsequent re-building and additions in the 17th and 18th centuries have created a handsome country house set in its own beautiful grounds of approximately three acres with extensive lawns, flower borders and a woodland area. It is a listed building( Grade II*).

Newbiggin is 4 miles from Carlisle, renowned for its Cathedral and Castle and award winning Tullie House Museum.  Here you will find shops and services and leisure facilities.
