Set in the historic estate of Belvoir Castle, Leicestershire, the ancestral home of the Dukes of Rutland for over one thousand years. Surrounded by fields and woodland in the picturesque Vale of Belvoir, the cottage is totally secluded.

Reeded Cottage is a delightful, traditionally built cottage made from the local stone of the area. Approached via a private ¼ mile track, Reeded Cottage is set in a secluded country location surrounded by fields and woods at the crossroads of the Jubilee Way.

Belvoir Castle is just 1½ miles from the cottage and is the current family home of the 11th Duke  of Rutland and his family. As a visitor to the Duke's estate, you receive complimentary admission to the Castle which is open from April to October.

The name Belvoir means 'beautiful view' and indeed it commands a breathtaking vista of the surrounding rolling English countryside. Originally built in around 1070, the castle has suffered a scarred history, being damaged and even partially demolished during the Wars of the Roses (1455 – 1487), the English Civil War (1642 – 1651) and a major fire in 1816. As well as tours of the Castle interior – a stunning example of 19th Century gothic revival decoration - Belvoir Castle also has a fine art collection, including paintings by Gainsborough, Reynolds, Holbein and Poussin and rare French and Regency furniture.
