Gracing an estate of more than fifty acres in what was once the heart of Royal Windsor Forest in Surrey, Great Fosters is the most distinguished of hotels – a Grade One listed building blessed with the grandeur of 16th century England and luxurious modern facilities. Immaculately preserved, this stately historic hotel also boasts a highly sought-after location, being near Heathrow airport, the M25 and M4, and also near Windsor, Wentworth and many of London’s leading attractions.

Since it first opened its doors as a hotel in 1930, this magnificent residence has played host to royalty, film stars, emperors and literary icons.

Great Fosters’ many reception rooms are richly adorned with oak beams and panelling, Jacobean chimneypieces, fine furnishings and exceptional works of art. Reflecting centuries of history, art and architecture, the rooms are nevertheless immaculately maintained and offer every modern comfort in the most charming of settings.

Likewise, the hotel is a wonderful setting for a wedding, christening or private celebration, and has excellent facilities for business meetings and functions – all of which our professional staff can advise on and help to organise.

Guests have full use of the hotel’s leisure facilities, including a heated outdoor swimming pool (open from May to September), a hard tennis court and a croquet lawn. The extensive gardens alone inspire guests to visit from all corners of the world and have been listed as ‘of outstanding merit’.

Accommodation All the suites and bedrooms at Great Fosters are individually decorated, some with four-poster beds, Persian rugs, gilt furnishings and damask walls, many with tapestries, antiques and artefacts dating back hundreds of years. Guests are accommodated in three separate buildings. The Main House, which dates from 1550, offers a choice of historic suites and bedrooms. The Cloisters, which is reached across a courtyard, offers contemporary suites and double rooms which were refurbished in May 2001. In addition The Coach House will provide newly refurbished accommodation in a choice of executive double rooms and suites.

The hotel is equally popular with resident guests as well as those seeking a top restaurant and unique evenings out within the Wentworth, Windsor, Hampton Court and Heathrow area. Guests can relax with pre-dinner drinks in the Cocktail Bar overlooking the Japanese bridge, beside the open fireplace in the Main Hall, or on the Terrace in fine weather. An impressive selection of vintage wines is also available to accompany the fine dining.

Weddings Great Fosters is a fine example of Elizabethan architecture; set amongst stunning formal gardens, the hotel makes an ideal venue for a wedding reception. Great Fosters possesses a plethora of original details and features and is designated as a Scheduled Historic Monument and Grade One listed building. Tempting menus are combined with vintage wines to ensure that your wedding breakfast is a gourmet experience, while the hotel’s romantic gardens – with a Japanese bridge, fountain and Saxon moat – provide an idyllic backdrop for photography. Following the celebrations, Great Fosters can offer your wedding party luxurious accommodation in our many suites and rooms. Professional staff will be delighted to advise you and can help plan and organise an unforgettable day.
