The perfect antidote to real life...

Welcome to our home, The Norfolk Mead Hotel. A former merchants house, we are approached via a secluded driveway leading to our lovely Georgian Country House on a quiet edge of The Norfolk Broads. Relax and enjoy our informal country house atmosphere with every luxury at your fingertips. Whether for a weekend break, overnight business trip or longer holiday we endeavour to offer guests a truly special experience with many individual touches and attentive service. We look forward to welcoming you to the Mead soon.

Explore our 8 acres of riverside grounds and gardens. Our front lawns lead you to the Mead, teeming with wildflowers, reeds and birdlife. Join us by boat and use our 750ft of moorings on a quiet stretch of the River Bure. Dive into the cooling depths of our outdoor swimming pool which is located in our walled gardens.

Accommodation Each room is completely unique, individually furnished and full of character. Attention to detail is reflected in the highest quality bed linen and fabrics used. Extra touches include Norfolk lavender, fluffy towels, white cotton waffle bath robes, radio cd player, TV, hospitality tray, fresh fruit and mineral water in all rooms. Suites have complimentary trays of Duke of Clarence Madeira and of course a Norfolk Mead teddy resides in each room. All our rooms are non-smoking. Each room enjoys views of either the walled garden and pool area, the mead or the river. A room for every occasion.

Dining We are very fortunate in that Norfolk is a farming and fishing county, which means we are able to source the freshest and finest local ingredients to provide you with delicious and healthy meals. Mark, our Head Chef makes every effort to bring you the best available produce, cooked and served to perfection. Our principle fish supplier has his own boat for crabs and lobster catching. Sea bass and sea trout are also a regular on the menu, being taken from the sea to your plate within hours. Our butcher provides us with the best organic rare breeds meat and poultry. Virtually all our vegetables are grown locally and are organic.

Weddings The Norfolk Mead makes the perfect setting for your civil ceremony or larger wedding parties. Our gardens make an ideal backdrop for your memorable photographs. Naturally the very best catering is provided by our chefs who would be happy to design a menu especially for your big day. We feel that as each wedding is very special it should therefore be designed to meet every couple's individual wishes and offer the services of our wedding coordinator to ensure your wedding day is everything you could wish it to be.

Corporate Hospitality The peaceful location, freshly cooked food and unobtrusive service make the Norfolk Mead a perfect location conducive to successful meetings. We offer three different venues for meetings subject to your requirements. Room hire, equipment and refreshments are included in our daily delegate rate. We can also include overnight accommodation if required.
