Summary

This Victorian-era castle is wonderfully situated on the northern tip of the Isle of Mull, and boasts Atlantic sea views. Glengorm Castle offers both bed and breakfast and self catering accommodation.

Description

The Castle was built in 1860 and sits at the headland of Glengorm's vast area of coastline, forestry, lochs and hills. Glengorm truly stands apart from the surrounding Western Isles - already known for its dramatic scenery - due to its tranquility and sheer natural beauty.

Bed and Breakfast

The Castle provides very special and unusual Bed and Breakfast accommodation.  The interior of the castle is very warm and comforting. Log fires and a dram watching the sunset in the library is the perfect way to spend an evening.

Self Catering

Glengorm's accommodation caters for most tastes - from the luxury of The Turret Flat to the more modest cottage at Balimeanach. There are two flats incorporated in the castle and six cottages on the estate. With one exception (The Turret Flat) dogs and children are welcome

The castle is occupied throughout the year by the proprietors and their children. All the flats and cottages are comfortably furnished and well equipped and every effort is made to maintain the high standards.

With the exception of Balimeanach, all cottages and flats have electric convector heaters in all the rooms; a charge for electricity is made per unit used except for Turret where the cost is included. The estate will provide firewood for open fires when wanted.

  • Bed linen, towels and tea towels are provided.
  • All flats and cottages are equipped with vacuums, brooms and cleaning materials.
  • A deposit of 25 per cent of the rent is payable when booking and the balance to be paid four weeks before your holiday, on receipt of the invoice.
  • Cots can be provided, but please bring your own bedding. Tenants wishing to accommodate more than the number stated may do so at an additional charge, which is noted on our price list.

Market Garden: Glengorm has a well-stocked market garden and nursery where tenants can buy fresh vegetables and plants, during the summer months.
