Cottages by the Sea in Cumbria

Most people automatically associate Cumbria with the hills and mountains of the Lake District, but many forget that there’s also some great beaches in this north-western corner of England. Take Ravenglass as an example, the only coastal town within the Lake District National Park and famous for its nearby prehistoric stone circle.

Other towns and villages along the coast include the Georgian town of Whitehaven, the village of St. Bees with it’s long sandy beach, as well as the historic village of Crosscanonby with it’s Roman fort and defences.
