London A City Through Time App Review

We’ve gone all high tech with this week’s blog post, and have decided to produce a video review of the fantastic ‘London – A City Through Time’ iPad app. Based on the London Encycolpaedia, this monster of a download comes in at just over a gigabyte but includes over 6,000 articles, 2,000 rare prints, 360 panoramas, audio tours and videos from the Pathé archives.

Coming in at an eye watering £9.99, the hardest part (other than waiting for the 1gig download) will be pressing the ‘purchase’ button on iTunes. But rest assured, once you open the app you will see that this is money well spent. With so much content to present, the developers have managed to keep the layout clean and tidy and – more importantly – easy to navigate.

The app itself is a collaboration between Heuristic Media, the Museum of London and Pan Macmillan, and has no doubt been released to co-incide with the upcoming games. For a full review, click on the video below.
